Course content

  1. Introduction to Machinery Safety: This includes the motivation for safety, key questions about safety and health, and an introduction to safety management systems.
  2. Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Employees learn to identify potential hazards associated with machinery, assess the associated risks, and implement appropriate control measures.
  3. Machine Guarding and Protection: This section focuses on understanding the purpose and types of machine guarding, ensuring proper installation and maintenance, and recognizing the dangers of removing or bypassing guards.
  4. Safe Operating Procedures: Training emphasizes the correct and safe operation of machinery, including pre-operation checks, proper start-up and shut-down procedures, and safe work practices.
  5. Maintenance and Repairs: Employees learn how to perform routine maintenance tasks, identify potential malfunctions, and report any issues to ensure safe operation.
  6. Emergency Procedures: Training covers emergency response protocols, including how to use emergency stop mechanisms, and what to do in the event of an accident.
