First Aid Administration

A First Aid at Work course equips individuals with the knowledge and practical skills to manage injuries and illnesses in the workplace until professional medical help arrives. The course typically covers legal responsibilities, basic life support, handling various injuries (fractures, bleeding, burns, etc.), and incident reporting.

Course Content

  1. Introduction & Responsibilities: Introduction to first aid at work and outlining the qualities and responsibilities of first aiders at the work place
  2. Legislations: Understanding the legal framework surrounding first aid in the workplace
  3. First Aid Kit Contents: Understanding the contents of a standard first aid kit and its proper use.
  4. Incident Reporting: Learning how to report incidents and maintain accurate records.
  5. Preventing Cross-Infection: Understanding the importance of infection control.
  6. Basic Life Support: CPR, recovery position, and the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator). 
  7. Emergency Response: Dealing with unresponsive casualties, choking, and seizures.
  8. Injury Management: Treating bleeding, fractures, burns, eye injuries, and spinal injuries.
  9. Illness Management: Recognizing and managing anaphylaxis, poisoning, and other illnesses.

Course Objective

  1. Equip participants with life-saving/life-sustaining skill in the even of emergencies and/or accidents
  2. Recognize the responsibility of employers/employees towards health and safety
  3. Establishment of individual’s role at the workplace in respect of:-
  4. Record keeping and reporting requirements
  5. Specific knowledge of the workplace and the provision of First Aid there
  6. Identify the reference sources for First Aid at work guidance
