This is a non statutory audit carried out before a premise is first put\/taken into use.

Objectives of Pre-Occupancy Audit are :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. To carry out a critical assessment of health and safety issues for the proposed office buildings prior to occupancy<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. To provide technical inputs on integrating safety at design stage for the proposed project.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Scope of Pre-Occupancy Audit <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Review the life safety aspects (number of exits, design of emergency exits, escape paths etc. with reference to the occupancy load) of the proposed building<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Review the design of the fire protection system for the building \u2013 Fire Hydrant system and Sprinkler system<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Suggestion on the fire extinguishers (numbers and type) to be installed at the proposed building<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Review the passive fire protection measures proposed to be adopted<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Review the design of fire alarm system proposed to be installed<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Study the proposed safety protection system in the electrical circuits<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. Review the proposed interior design from fire, electrical and life safety perspective<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    8. Review the proposed security control system and offer additional risk control measures, if required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    9. Assess the risks arising from neighboring assets and suggest adequate risk control measures, where required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    10. Review the design of the CCTV System from safety perspective.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    11. Location of fire exits \u2013farthest distance for an employee to reach the fire exit (as per regulation)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      4. National Electric Code<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Other applicable safety standards (national & international) on Fire & Electrical Safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n
